Burgers

The burger in the picture not only looks like a work of art but incredibly delicious as well. Looking at the picture I think the burger is topped with a portion of an onion that was previously bloomed or shredded cheese. The Chef did a great job at making that burger look appetizing. Sitting down to a dish as this in a brown gravy sauce trimmed with a few green beans sure looks like a great way to start off the weekend!

When I worked for a Chef I learned all kinds of things so today I’ll share one of the secrets I learned about burgers. As crazy as it sound adding a tablespoonful of mayonnaise to your bowl of fresh ground beef or ground turkey really makes the burger come out tasting really yummy. Along with that mayo you’ll want to add black pepper, finely chopped green peppers, 1/2 of a red onion finely chopped and some parsley. Incorporate all of those ingredients in your bowl and in about 20 to 25 minutes your mouth will have a serious party.

Sometimes the burgers will turn black because of the mayo. If they do flip them and just keep an eye on them while they are cooking. Sometimes they will fall apart where they turn black so let them cook until they have that chard look to them; than flip.

I’m not sure what it is in the mayonnaise that turns the burgers black but if I had to guess it’s the egg whites mixing with the meat that causes that. Happy frying or grilling. Oh, and if you do try my recipe let me know if you enjoyed it.
