Two Wolves

Why Wolves you ask? I know, they are pretty vicious however; they are also very skilled hunters that have beautiful coats.

In the spring time wolves can have up to 4 to 6 pups at a time. As far as diet is concerned they eat deer, elk, moose, caribou and bison. When it comes to getting the larger animals like a moose or bison that’s when wolves work together in a pack to take down a larger animal.  They do this by ambush.

This first sketch is one layer of purple violet,  raw umber and pencil.

Wolves 1

Here I put down 3 layers of purple violet, raw umber and burnt sienna.

Wolves 2

For the final colored pencil sketch I added black and 2 heavier layers of burnt sienna along with raw umber. This sketch took about 4 hours to complete.

Wolves Final

Next up, is a Red Fox.
